## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 12-24-99, MIDWEST EXPRESS FLIGHT 80, A MD-80, N809ME RETURNED TO MCI DUE TO A PRESSURIZATION PROBLEM. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED SAFELY. MIDWEST EXPRESS MAINTENANCE FOUND A LOOSE AND LEAKING CLAMP AT THE RIGHT HAND WATER SEPARATOR TEMP CONTROL VALVE FORWARD DUCT. THE LEFT HAND PACK HAD BEEN DEFERRED DUE TO A TEMP CONTROL PROBLEM. BETWEEN THE LEAKING DUCT AND THE DEFERRED PACK THE AIRCRAFT COULD NOT MAINTAIN ENOUGH AIR FLOW TO PRESSURIZE THE AIRCRAFT. THE CLAMP WAS TIGHTENED AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS DISPATCHED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. THIS INCIDENT, CE2000IAC013, IS CONSIDERED CLOSED WITH THE FILING OF THIS REPORT. REF PTRS: CE2000B0236.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
