## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) MR. POOLE WAS LANDING AT A PRIVATE AIRFIELD (4WE) ON RUNWAY 14. MR. POOLE NEGLECTED TO EXTEND THE GEAR. THE PROPELLER WAS THE FIRST TO STRIKE THE GROUND LEAVING AT LEAST 4 DIAGONAL MARKS. THE FUSELAGE THEN SETTLED TO THE RUNWAY LEAVING SCRAPE MARKS FROM THE ANTENNAS ON THE BOTTOM OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE MARKS EXTEND 100 YARDS DOWN THE RUNWAY TO THE POINT WHERE THE AIRCRAFT STOPPED. THE ROD THAT OPERATED THE DOWNLOCK SWITCH WAS BENT DURING LANDING AND CAUSED THE GEAR CIRCUIT BREAKER TO POP AFTER THE GEAR WAS FULLY EXTENDED. THE ROD WAS STRAIGHTENED FOR TROUBLESHOOTING AND THE GEAR FUNCTIONED PROPERLY. THE ONLY MALFUNCTION THAT COULD BE IDENTIFIED WAS THAT THE GEAR EXTENSION WARNING HORN WAS INOPERATIVE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
