## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PA-28 N7933N ON APPROACH TO CAPITOL CITY AIRPORT IN FRANKFORT, KY. AIRCRAFT ENGINE EXPERIENCED A SEVERE VIBRATION AND LOSS OF POWER. PILOT OPTED TO LAND SHORT OF THE AIRPORT ON KY127, APPROXIMATELY TWO MILES SOUTHEAST OF THE AIRPORT. PILOT WAS ALIGNED WITH THE ROAD WAY WHEN HE NOTICED ELECTRICAL POWER LINES. HE MANUVERED TO GET UP OVER THE POWER LINES AND WAS UNABLE TO ALINE BACK WITH THE ROADWAY. HE LANDED THE AIRCRAFT IN THE MEDIUM, BETWEEN THE NORTH AND SOUTH LANES, IN A GRASSY AREA. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED A SCRAPED LEFT WING TIP ON LANDING, AND A SCRAPED RIGHT WING TIP CAUSED BY A PASSING AUTOMOBILE. NO RESULTING INJURIES TO EITHER THE PILOT OR GROUND MOTORIST. INSPECTION OF THE AIRCRAFT REVEALED A OLE IN THE ENGINE CRANKCASE CAUSED BY INTERNAL FAILURE OF THE ENGINE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
