## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23)ON RETURN TO HOME BASE AT OGDEN I NOTICED THAT I DID NOT HAVE A DOWN INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR. AFTER ATTEMPTS TO GET A GREEN LIGHT, I NOTIFIED THE TOWER OF THE PROBLEM AND WAS CLEARED TO MAKE A SLOW FLY BY. THE TOWER ADVISED ME THAT MY RIGHT MAIN WAS NOT IN THE DOWN POSITION. I THEN RETRACTED THE OTHER GEAR AND MADE A FLAP AND WHEELS UP LANDING ON RUNWAY 21. PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN I KILLED THE ENGINE WITH THE MAGNETO SWITCH AND TURNED OFF THE FUEL AT THE SHUTOFF VALVE. SINCE THE WHEELS DO NOT FULLY RETRACT THEY SERVE TO KEEP THE FUSELAGE FROM ACTUALLY CONTACTING THE RUNWAY ENABLING THE BRAKES TO BE USED EVEN WITH THE GEAR RETRACTED. DAMAGE WAS LIMITED TO THE WOODEN PROPELLER TIPS AND THE TAIL SKID.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
