## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

PILOT SWITCHED TANKS PRIOR TO TAKEOFF. FUEL SELECTOR IS ORIGINAL TYPE WHICH DOES NOT PROVIDE FOR POSITIVE FEEL OF ENGAGEMENT, AND DOES NOT HAVE "OFF" POSITION LOCKOUT. ENGINE FAILED ON CLIMBOUT. PILOT RETURNED TO AIRPROT AND SET UP FOR LANDING RWY 04, KEEPING LANGING GEAR RETRACTED TO REDICE DRAG. PILOT LOWERED GEAR TOO LATE FOR FULL EXTENSION BEFORE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST ON SNOW COVERED RUNWAY. ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
