## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

INSPECTED ACCIDENT SITE ON 3-1-00 AT APPROXIMATELY 1500. AW INSPECTOR GLJ INSPECTED ENGINE OIL SUPPLY AND NOTED NO OIL ON THE DIP STICK. THE DIP STICK WAS SECURED IN PLACE. INSPECTED OIL LINE. THE OIL RETURN LINE "B" NUT ON THE OUTLET SIDE OF THE OIL COOLER WAS FINGER TIGHT. EXAMINED THE OIL LEAKAGE PATTERN FROM OIL COOLER LINE TO ENGINE BAY AND THE LEAKAGE PATTERN ON THE BOTTOM OF THE AIRCRAFT. EXAMINATION REVEALED A SLOW OIL LEAK. IT APPEARS THAT THIS MAY BE THE SOURCE OF THE LOSS OF ENGINE OIL, WHICH LEAD TO ENGINE FAILURE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
