## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AFTER TAKE OFF, ENGINE STARTED RUNNING ROUGH. PILOT RELEASED BANNER AND MADE A PRECAUTIONARY LANDING IN A FIELD 8 MILES SOUTH OF THE AIRPORT. THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT DAMAGED AND THE PILOT WAS NOT INJURED. ON 3-7-00, THE AIRCRAFT AND MAINTENANCE RECORDS WERE INSPECTED. THE ENGINE FUEL AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WAS CHECKED AND THE ENGINE WAS RUN SEVERAL TIMES. IT COULD NOT BE DETERMINED WHAT CAUSED THE ROUGH RUNNING ENGINE. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
