## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ^PRIVACY DA^ AND A FRIEND HAD JUST FINISHED CLEANING THE AIRCRAFT AND DECIDED TO TAKE IT AROUND THE PATTERN. ^PRIVACY DA^ LANDED THE AIRCRAFT WITH THE LANDING GEAR RETRACTED. ^PRIVACY DA^ WAS GIVING HIS FRIEND SOME INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO APPROACH AND LAND AT THIS PRIVATE AIRPORT WHEN THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. ^PRIVACY DA^ STATED THAT HE NORMALLY USED THE CHECKLIST BUT DID NOT ON THIS INCIDENT. HE ATTRIBUTED THIS TO THE FACT THAT HE WAS IN THE PATTERN A VERY SHORT TIME AND HE WAS TALKING TO HIS FRIEND ABOUT THE AIRPORT. HE ALSO STATED THAT THE LANDING GEAR WARNING HORN DID NOT SOUND DURING THE APPROACH.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
