## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT LOST CONTROL OF A/C ON TAKEOFF FROM A GRASS STRIP AND GROUND LOOPED CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO THE CESSNA 170-B. THE PILOT AND TWO PASSENGERS WERE NOT INJURED. THE LOCAL FLIGHT WAS CONDUCTED UNDER CFR-14 PART 91. VISUAL FLIGHT CONDITIONS EXISTED AT THIS TIME.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DEN00LA087](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DEN00LA087), May 13, 2000: Cessna 170B (N8319A), Bedford, WY, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadvertent ground loop. A factor was the soft grass airstrip.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
