(-23)ON TUESDAY, MAY 16, 2000, A DEHAVILLAND DHC-8-102, N826EX, FLIGHT 3796, OPERATED BY ALLEGHENY AIRLINES, DEPARTED FROM BRADLEY, CONNECTICUT TO ROCHESTER, NEW YORK. THE FLIGHT CREW EXPERIENCED A CRACKED LEFT WINDOW IN FLIGHT.  THE FLIGHT WAS DIVERTED TO SYRACUSE, NY.  A LANDING WAS ACCOMPLISHED WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. FIRE AND RESCUE RESPONDED.  THERE WERE NO INJURIES.  THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED TO THE GATE WHERE THE MECHANICS REMOVED AND REPLACED THE LEFT CAPTAIN'S WINDOW.  A FUNCTIONAL CHECK WAS ACCOMPLISHED SATISFACTORILY AND THE AIRCRAFT WAS RELEASED FOR SERVICE.  THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.
