## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT LANDED LONG, WENT OFF RIGHT SIDE OF RUNWAY AND PROCEEDED TO TRAVEL SOME 1100' THROUGH THE GRASS AND OVER A GOLF GREEN AT WHICH POINT THE RIGHT WING STRUCK A TREE AND THE AIRCRAFT CAME TO REST THERE. RIGHT WING WAS RIPPED OFF THE AIRFRAME AS A RESULT OF THE IMPACT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO PILOT OR PASSENGERS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC00LA175](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC00LA175), Jun 25, 2000: Piper PA-28-161 (N36355), Robbinsville, NJ, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate compensation for wind conditions, which resulted in a loss of aircraft control. A factor was a crosswind.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
