## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THIS A/C HAS A HORIZONTAL BAR (PART OF AIRCRAFT STRUCTURE) INSTALLED JUST ABOVE THE BRAKE PEDALS. DURING LANDING IF ONE WERE TO HAVE THEIR FEET ONLY A FEW INCHES ABOVE THE FLOOR, FULL BRAKE TRAVEL WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE DUE TO BRAKE PEDAL RESTRICTED TRAVEL.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI00LA219](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI00LA219), Jul 1, 2000: McCann Wheeler Express/FT (N521MC), Fort Wayne, IN, substantial damage. Probable cause: the obstructed brake pedals and the unavailable brakes to the pilot. Factors were the parked airplane and the fence.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
