## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI00LA191](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI00LA191), Jul 10, 2000: Cessna A188B (N9557G), Washington, KS, substantial damage. Probable cause: the failure of the number-two connecting rod bearing and the unsuitable terrain for landing encountered by the pilot during the forced landing. A factor to the accident was the rough/uneven field.

## Other reports on N9557G (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19820501013489A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19820501013489A), May 1, 1982: Cessna A188B (N9557G), Columbus, MS, Substantial damage. Struck a cow on attempted pasture takeoff. Cow ran into path from behind a parked truck.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
