## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT WAS PRACTICING TOUCH-AND-GOES ON BIRCH LAKE IN HIS HOMEBUILT/EXPERIMENTAL KINGFISHER AIRCRAFT. ON CLIMBOUT FOLLOWING THE SECOND LANDING, THE PILOT FELT HE DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH SPEED TO CLEAR THE TREES AT THE FAR END OF THE LAKE, AND ATTEMPTED TO TURN BACK TOWARD THE LAKE. THE AIRCRAFT IMPACTED THE TREES AND WAS DESTROYED. THE PILOT SUSTAINED NUMEROUS BROKEN BONES. THE AIRCRAFT WAS NOT REGISTERED AND DID NOT HAVE AN "N" NUMBER.

Factors were the trees and the bent carburetor…

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
