## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AFTER TAKE-OFF, PILOT NOTICED THAT THE A/C WAS NOT PRODUCING SUFFICIENT POWER TO CONTINUE DEPARTURE. DECISION WAS MADE TO RETURN TO THE AIRPORT. UPON COMPLETING THE TURN, THE PILOT REALIZED THAT HE WAS NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO MAKE IT TO THE RUNWAY, AND ELECTED TO LAND ON THE TAXIWAY. THE A/C LANDED JUST SHORT OF THE TAXIWAY, THE RIGHT MAIN GEAR FAILED, AND THE A/C SPUN. THE WINGS AND RUDDERS SEPARATED, TWO OF THE PROPELLOR BLADES SEPARATED, AND THE CANOPY WAS BROKEN. THE PILOT WAS IN CONTACT WITH THE PENDELTON TOWER DURING THE ENTIRE OPERATION.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB SEA00LA146](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/SEA00LA146), Jul 30, 2000: Jonas Falcon XP (N90345), Pendleton, OR, substantial damage. Probable cause: A loss of engine power for undetermined reasons. A factor was rough/uneven terrain in the forced landing area.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
