## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) BALLOON BASKET TIPPED ON LANDING BECAUSE OF A BUSH BEING IN THE FIELD. WOMAN PASSENGER 72 YEARS OLD LOST HER BALANCE SLIPPED AND BROKE AN ANKLE. THE FOUR OTHER PASSENGERS WERE INJURED. OTHER THAN THE TIPPING OF THE BASKET THIS WAS ANORMAL LANDING. WEATHER WAS NOT A FACTOR.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DEN00LA146](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DEN00LA146), Aug 6, 2000: Aerostar S-77A (N5164R), Steamboat Spgs, CO, no damage. Probable cause: The pilot's failure to maintain clearance from a bush during the balloon landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
