(-23)THE PILOT WAS PREPARING TO LAND ON A BEACH AT LAKE CREEK AND THE YENTNA RIVER. HE STATED THAT HE DID TWO FLY BY'S TO INSPECT THE LANDING AREA. JUST AFTER TOUCH DOWN, THE LEFT MAIN GEAR HIT A PIECE OF DRIFT WOOD. THE AIRCRAFT PULLED TO THE RIGHT SLIGHTLY, THE TAIL TIPPED UP, AND THE NOSE TIPPED DOWN WHERE THE PROPELLER MADE CONTACT WITH THE GRAVEL SURFACE. From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
