## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC00LA100](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC00LA100), Aug 15, 2000: Piper PA-18 (N82962), Arctic Village, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's inadequate compensation for wind conditions, resulting in an inadvertent stall. A factor in the accident was the gusty winds.

## Other reports on N82962 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Accident 19800516016749A](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19800516016749A), May 16, 1980: Piper PA18150 (N82962), Dillingham, AK, Destroyed. Wind gust lifted airplane during beach landing roll. Tried to go around, drifted into a cliff on climbout.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
