## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ANC00LA102](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ANC00LA102), Aug 17, 2000: Piper J-3 (N88283), Anchorage, AK, substantial damage. Probable cause: The loss of engine power due to water contamination of the fuel system, the airplane's lack of the required center fuel tank quick drain, and the pilot's inadequate preflight.

## Other reports on N88283 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19890622042739I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19890622042739I), Jun 22, 1989: Piper J3C65 (N88283), Anchorage, AK, Minor damage. On landing rollout aircraft veered. No rudder response. Wind lifted wing and ground looped. Hit parked aircraft.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong.
