## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DC-3 WAS TAXIING TO PARKING RAMP AFTER AN INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT, WHILE IN PARKING AREA, THE RIGHT EXPANDER TUBE BRAKE FAILED, AND THE PILOT WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE AIRPLANE BEFORE IT COLLIDED WITH A PARKED AND UNOCCUPIED BEECH 18.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ATL00LA083](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ATL00LA083), Aug 21, 2000: Douglas DC-3 (N79MA), Key West, FL, substantial damage. Probable cause: Failure of the right brake expander tube which limited the pilots control of the aircraft.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
