## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) STUDENT PILOT ACQUIRED KEY TO N6107Q, A CESSNA 152, FROM AN EMPLOYEE NOT FAMILAR WITH PILOT QUALIFICATION OR INTENTION TO CONDUCT UNAUTHORIZED CROSS COUNTRY FLIGHT. PILOT WAS ADVISED EARLIER THAT SOLO NIGHT CROSS COUNTRY WAS NOT PERMITTED. ADDITIONALLY, PILOT HAD BEEN ENDORSED FOR ONLY CESSNA 172 SUPERVISED FLIGHT. PILOT DEPARTED DTN AT 1615 HOURS AND ARRIVED AT ALTUS, OK., AXS AT 1905 HOURS. A/C REFUELED AND LOCAL INSTRUCTOR ANNOTATED SAFE ARRIVAL AND ADVISED THAT THE RETURN TRIP TO SHREVEPORT SHOULD INCLUDE A FUEL STOP. A/C DEPARTED AXS AT 2020 HOURS AND CRASHED AT 0008, 14 MILES NW OF DESTINATION, DTN. EXAMINATION OF WRECKAGE REVEALED A MINOR POST IMPACT FIRE AND MINIMAL AMOUNT OF FUEL REMAINING IN BOTH FUEL TANKS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB FTW00LA260](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/FTW00LA260), Sep 18, 2000: Cessna 152 (N6107Q), Blanchard, LA, substantial damage. Probable cause: The student pilot's failure to refuel, which resulted in fuel exhaustion. Factors were the dark night light conditions and lack of suitable terrain for the forced landing.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
