## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23)ON OCTOBER 14, 2000, AT ABOUT 1610 LOCAL TIME WHILE ON A PLEASURE FLIGHT, FROM THE MOLINE QUAD CITY AREA TO CARBONDALE, THE APPROPRIATELY RATED PILOT IN COMMAND AND SOLE OCCUPANT, EXPERIENCED A COMPLETE LOSS OF ENGINE POWER APPROXIMATELY THREE MILES FROM THE END OF RUNWAY 18 AT CARBONDALE SIU AIRPORT (MDH). THE PIC EXECUTED A SUCCESSFUL EMERGENCY LANDING IN A FIELD, WITHOUT DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT OF HIMSELF. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
