## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23)WHILE PERFORMING TOUCH AND GO LANDINGS AT GILLESPIE FIELD (SEE), STUDENT LANDED LONG ON RUNWAY 27 RIGHT. AFTER STUDENT APPLIED FULL POWER FOR TAKEOFF, THE PIC RECOGNIZED THERE WAS INSUFFICIENT RUNWAY REMAINING TO SAFELY COMPLETE THE TAKEOFF. PIC CALLED FOR ABORT, APPLYING MAXIMUM BRAKING AND REDUCING POWER. AIRCRAFT SKIDDED APPROXIMATELY 100 YARDS UNTIL IT LEFT THE HARD SURFACE OF THE RUNWAY, COMING TO REST APPROXIMATELY 150 FEET OFF THE DEPARTURE END OF RUNWAY 27 RIGHT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO EITHER OCCUPANT. THE AIRCRAFT SUSTAINED MINOR DAMAGE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
