## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

DURING APPROACH TO BUFFALO NIAGARA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, REPORTED THAT THE #3 LEADING EDGE SLAT FAILED TO EXTEND AND THE CAUTION LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FLIGHT CREW DECLARED AN EMERGENCY. A LANDING WAS ACCOMPLISHED WITHOUT INCIDENT. FIRE AND RESCUE RESPONDED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED TO THE GATE. THE AIRCRAFT MECHANIC PERFORMED AN OPERATIONAL CHECK OF THE SYSTEM AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM ON THE GROUND. THE AIRCRAFT WAS RELEASED FOR SERVICE. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
