## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23)^PRIVACY DATA OMITT^ LANDED N442T, A TRAVAIRE (RV-6), ON RUNWAY 29L AT KFAT (FRESNO YOSEMITE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT) ON DECEMBER 12, 2000, WHILE TAXIING FROM THE RUNWAY TO PARKING HE TURNED OFF THE RUNWAY AT THE INTERSECTION B-8 AND WAS PROCEDING SOUTHWEST BOUND BUT FAILED TO SEE THAT THE PAVEMENT ENDED AND THE EXIT FOR THE TAXIWAY WAS TO HIS LEFT. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HE HAD SUN IN HIS EYES AND HE COULD NOT SEE OVER THE NOSE WELL ENOUGH TO SEE THAT THE DIRECTION HE NEEDED TO GO WAS TO HIS LEFT. HE RAN INTO A TAXIWAY SIGN WITH THE PROPELLER AND STOPPED THE AIRPLANE AT THE POINT OF IMPACT. THE WEATHER CONDITIONS WERE VFR AND NO OTHER AIRPLANES WERE INVOLVED. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
