## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON JANUARY 07, 2001, N7475E, AN EXPERIMENTAL CESSNA 210, LANDED WITH THE NOSE GEAR IN THE UNLOCKED POSITION AT TUCSON INTL. AIRPORT. THE PILOT STATED THAT WHEN HE PUT THE GEAR DOWN IN PREPARATION FOR LANDING, HE HEARD A LOUD BANG. SUBSEQUENT INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT THE ACTUATOR ROD END HAD SHEARED ON THE NOSE GEAR PREVENTING IT FROM LOCKING DOWN. THE A/C SUSTAINED DAMAGE TO THE PROPELLER AND NOSE GEAR DOORS UPON LANDING.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
