## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON APPROACH TO RUNWAY 22 AT NEW CENTURY AIR CENTER, NEW CENTURY, KS., (IXD), THE PILOT ATTEMPTED TO INCREASE POWER, BUT THE THROTTLE WOULD NOT MOVE. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED IN A FIELD JUST SHORT OF THE RUNWAY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE PILOT OR STUDENT, AND NO DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT. MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL FROM KANSAS CITY AVIATION CENTER, OLATHE KANSAS WERE DISPATCHED TO THE SCENE AND DISCOVERED THE CARBURATOR AIR VALVE SHAFT HAD SEIZED IN THE CARBURETOR, PREVENTING THROTTLE MOVEMENT. INCIDENT #CE2001IGA0025 IS CONSIDERED CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
