## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT LOST DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF AIRCRAFT ON ROLL OUT DUE TO A WIND GUST RAISING THE L/H WING. THE AIRCRAFT DRIFTED TO THE LEFT AS THE PILOT POWERED UP TO GO AROUND. THE L/H WHEEL MADE CONTACT WITH THE SNOW BANK ON THE L/H SIDE OF RUNWAY CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO IMMEDIATELY FLIPPED OVER ON IT'S BACK. THE RUNWAY IS 45 FEET WIDE AND WAS ONLY PLOWED TO A 43 FOOT WIDTH WHERE AIRCRAFT WAS LANDING. THE SNOW BANK WAS REPORTED TO BE FROM 2 TO 3 FEET DEEP AT THE TIME OF THE ACCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB DEN01LA068](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/DEN01LA068), Mar 7, 2001: Piper J3C-65 (N42523), Morgan, UT, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's failure to maintain directional control during landing roll which resulted in a collision with a snow bank on the edge of the runway.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
