## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AT DEPARTURE TIME, RAMP PERSONNEL WERE NOT ABLE TO REMOVE RIGHTMAIN INBOARD WHEEL CHOCK. WITH TWO RAMP PERSONNEL DEPARTING THE AIRCRAFT (POWERBACK COORDINATOR, AND WING WALKER), THE POWERBACK COORDINATOR WAS TO HAVE THE AIRCRAFT POWER FORWARD, AND THE WING WALKER WAS TO REMOVE THE WHEEL CHOCK, THEN REPOSITION HIMSELF TO THE LEFT WING POSITION. AS THE WING WALKER WAS EXITING FROM UNDER THE AIRCRAFT, THE THRUST REVERSERS WERE DEPLOYED. THEREVERSE THRUST KNOCKED THE WING WALKER TO THE GROUND INJURING HIS LEFT KNEE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB ATL01LA041](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/ATL01LA041), Mar 23, 2001: Boeing 727-200 (N275US), Memphis, TN, no damage. Probable cause: The Powerback Coordinator's failure to follow powerback procedures which resulted in jet blast injuries to the wing walker. A factor was the stuck wheel chock.

## Other reports on N275US (2)

Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong.
