## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) SEE PILOT NARRATIVE (ATTACHED) ENGINE RUNUP ON 5-21-01 RAN OK. I REVIEWED THE LOGBOOKS AND FOUND AN ANNUAL INSP. WAS DONE ON 6-23-00 BOTH AIRFRAME AND ENGINE. TALKED TO PILOT, HE HAS NO EXPLANATION FOR CAUSE OF ACCIDENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX01LA138](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX01LA138), Apr 3, 2001: Cessna 180 (N21394), Tucson, AZ, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's failure to attain and maintain a sufficient airspeed, which resulted in an inadvertent stall/mush.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
