## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT ALLOWED AIRCRAFT TO BE PUSHED OFF THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY BY A CROSSWIND. LANDING ON THE LEFT MAIN GEAR AND THE LEFT WING CAUSING THE AIRCRAFT TO TURN 180 DEGREES.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB IAD01LA052](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/IAD01LA052), Apr 28, 2001: Piper J3-C65 (N26096), Annapolis, MD, substantial damage. Probable cause: pilot's failure to maintain directional control during landing. A factor was the crosswind.

## Other reports on N26096 (1)

Matched to the same aircraft by N-number and date.

- [Incident 19950531020339I](https://openairdocs.org/incident/19950531020339I), May 31, 1995: Piper J3C65 (N26096), Pasadena, MD, Minor damage. Landed long and left side runway to avoid debris. Left wing tip caught on a tree. Collapsed gear. Broke lift strut.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
