## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23)PILOT EXPLAINED THAT HE WAS GIVEN A CROSS WIND RUNWAY TO LAND ON DUE TO A SOUTHWEST AIRCRAFT LANDING ON THE UPWIND RUNWAY. DURING THE LANDING ROLL, AIRCRAFT EXPERIENCED A WIND GUST CAUSING IT TO DEPART THE RUNWAY, KNOCKING OVER A RUNWAY SIGN AT THE INTERSECTION OF THE TWO RUNWAYS IN MIDLAND, TX. NO DAMAGE TO AIRCRAFT AND MINOR DAMAGE TO SIGN. COUNSELED PILOT ON CROSS WIND LANDINGS AND RUNWAY SELECTION. PILOT ALSO HAD TO GO THROUGH ADDITIONAL CROSS WIND LANDING TRAINING WITH THE AIRCRAFT RENTAL COMPANY. NO FURTHER ACTION NECESSARY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
