## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23)AIRCRAFT WAS ON A VFR CROSS COUNTRY FROM CENTERVILLE, IA (TVC) TO DES MOINES, IA (DSM). THE PILOT WAS CLEARED TO LAND ON RUNWAY 31 AT DSM. ATIS INFORMATION "FOXTROT" WAS CURRENT WITH THE WINDS AT 250 DEGREES AT 14 KNOTS WITH LOW LEVEL SHEAR ADVISORIES. THE PILOT STATED THAT SHE KEPT THE SPEED UP ON FINAL APPROACH BECAUSE OF THE WIND SHEAR. APPROACH SPEED WAS APPROXIMATELY 90 TO 100 KNOTS. AFTER TOUCH DOWN, THE PILOT LOST CONTROL AND DEPARTED THE RUNWAY TO THE LEFT. THE LEFT MAIN GEAR STRUCK A CONCRETE BLOCK ASSOCIATED WITH THE ARRESTING CABLE ASSEMBLY NEXT TO THE RUNWAY, CAUSING MINOR DAMAGE. THIS INCIDENT IS CONSIDERED CLOSED WITH THIS REPORT.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
