## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT STATED THAT SHE HAD TAKEN DELIVERY OF THE AIRCRAFT AT THE CIRRUS DESIGN CORPORATION FACTORY, DULUTH, MINNESOTA, AND RECEIVED APPROXIMATELY TEN HOURS OF FLIGHT TRAINING THERE ON JUNE 14TH AND 15TH. THE LANDING ON RUNWAY 20 AT THE SPRINGFIELD-BRANSON REGIONAL AIRPORT (SGF) ON JUNE 16TH WAS ONLY THE PILOT'S SECOND LANDING WITHOUT AN INSTRUCTOR ON BOARD. THE AIRPLANE BOUNCED ON INITIAL TOUCHDOWN AND BALLOONED APPROXIMATELY 100 FEET HIGH, WHEREUPON SHE ADDED POWER. SHE REPORTED A STRONG LEFT ROLLING MOVEMENT AND A HIGH PITCH ATTITUDE AS THE AIRPLANE STRUCK THE GROUND A SECOND TIME AND CAREENED ACROSS THE INFIELD AND ONTO THE RAMP, STILL UNDER POWER, STRIKING A PARKED AND UNOCCUPIED SWEARINGEN SW-4. BOTH AIRPLANES WERE SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED, BUT THERE WAS NO FIRE. THE PILOT RECEIVED MINOR INJURIES, HER HUSBAND WAS SERIOUSLY INJURED, AND THE PASSENGER REFUSED MEDICAL TREATMENT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB CHI01FA169](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/CHI01FA169), Jun 16, 2001: Cirrus Design SR22 (N739BB), Springfield, MO, substantial damage. Probable cause: the lack of experience in the type of airplane and directional control not maintained by the pilot. The improper flare and parked airplane were contributing factors.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
