## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) MR, TORSTEN POHLSCHNEIDER PERFORMED A TANDEM JUMP ON JUNE 22, 2001, ATTENDED A SIX-HOUR GROUND SCHOOL ON JUNE 23, 2001, AND PERFORMED TWO STATIC LINE JUMPS ON JUNE 24, 2001. ON HIS THIRD JUMP ON THAT DAY, THE MAIN PARACHUTE DEVELOPED A MALFUNCTION (SLIDER HANGUP) AT 3000 FEET. ACCORDING TO STATEMENT PROVIDED BY THE OWNER OF THE PARACHUTE CENTER, THE STUDENT CUT WAY THE MAIN PARACHUTE AT AN ESTIMATED ALTITUDE OF 200 FEET. IT WAS TOO LOW FOR THE RESERVE PARACHUTE TO OPEN. ONLY THE LINES HAD TIME TO RELEASE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
