## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT IN COMMAND (PIC) LEFT PONTIAC, MICHIGAN (PTK) @ 1630 LOCAL TIME ON JUNE 25, 2001. THIS WAS TO WORK WITH GPS UNIT (NORTH STAR SYSTEM) ON APPROACHES VMC WITH DAN FLAVIN A PRIVATE PILOT. WEATHER INFORMATION WAS RECEIVED FROM THE TELEVISION, AS IT WAS A SUNNY CLEAR DAY. THE AREA FOR GPS FLIGHT WORK WAS JUST EAST OF FLINT, MI (FNT). THIS WAS NOT A CFI TRAINING FLIGHT. SEVERAL APPROACHES INTO FNT WERE ACCOMPLISHED, HOWEVER PIC DID NOT LAND UNTIL THE FOURTH TIME, THIS WAS A GEAR UP LANDING AT 65-70 KIAS WITH FULL FLAPS (40 DEGREES) ON RUNWAY 27.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
