## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT ABORTED TAKEOFF DUE TO A LOUD BANG WAS HEARD BY THE CREW AND THE FORWARD CARGO DOOR OPEN LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE AIRCRAFT TAXIED BACK TO THE RAMP UNEVENTFUL. DURING A WALK AROUND INSPECTION, THEY FOUND THE RIGHT ENGINE HAD A TURBINE FAILURE. A CLOSER INSPECTION OF THE AFT SECTION OF THE TURBINE REVEALED THE 4TH STAGE HAD COMPLETELY DISINTEGRATED BUT REMAINED SELF CONTAINED IN THE AFT SECTION OF THE ENGINE. THE TURBINE BLADES HAD BECOME COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM THE RING. METAL WAS REPORTED OUT ON THE RUNWAY HOWEVER NO METAL PIERCED THROUGH THE SIDE OF THE COWL. ALL PASSENGERS AND CREW WERE ABLE TO EXIT THE AIRCRAFT THROUGH NORMAL MEANS AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
