## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AT CRUISE, 2000 FT, 20 MINUTES INTO THE FLIGHT, THE PILOT FELT A VIBRATION THROUGH THE RUDDER PEDALS THAT HE ASSOCIATED WITH A MISSFIRE IN THE ENGINE. AS THE FLIGHT PROGRESSED AN OIL MIST APPEARED ON THE WINDSCREEN. THE PILOT LOCATED THE NEAREST AIRPORT, BUT DURING THE APPROACH THE POWER BEGAN TO FAIL. DUE TO POWER LINES NEAR THE END OF THE RUNWAY, THE PILOT OPTED FOR A FULL STALL LANDING IN A BEAN FIELD, 1/4 MILE SHORT OF THE RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
