## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON THE ROLLOUT AFTER LANDING AT BIG CREEK AIRSTRIP, THE PILOT CLAIMS THAT A STRONG LEFT QUARTERING HEADWIND FORCED HIS AIRCRAFT TO WEATHER VANE INTO THE WIND. THE TAILWHEEL CAUGHT UP ON A PARALLEL IRRIGATION PIPE, STOPPING THE MOMENTUM OF THE AIRCRAFT. THE RIGHT WING TIP, TRAILING EDGE, AND AILERON IMPACTED WITH THE GROUND, CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. THE WIND WAS VERY SEVERE THAT DAY AS REPORTED BY EXPERIENCED BACK COUNTRY OPERATORS. THE PILOT RECEICED A WEATHER BRIEFING PRIOR TO DEPARTURE FROM NAMPA, ID. NO AIRMETS WERE ISSSUED FOR SEVERE TURBULANCE.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.
