## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THE PILOT STATED: AFTER FLYING FOR ABOUT AN HOUR I FLEW BACK TO THE AIRPORT TO PICK UP ANOTHER BANNER. I HAD LEFT ORIGINALLY WITH FULL TANKS, 36 GALLONS. FUEL BURN ON THIS AIRPLANE IS 7-8 GAL/HOUR. SHORTLY BEFORE PICKING UP THE NEXT BANNER I SWITCHED THE FUEL SELECTOR TO THE LEFT TANK AND NOTED THE DETENT. ABOUT 5 TO 10 SECONDS AFTER BANNER PICK UP THE ENGINE COMPLETELY FAILED. THE ALTITUDE WAS APPROXIMATELY 200 FEET. I RELEASED THE BANNER AND MADE A FORCED LANDING. THE WEATHER WAS GOOD AND THE WIND WAS LIGHT FROM THE SOUTHWEST. NOTE: INVESTIGATION FORWARD TO OPERATION SUPERVISOR FOR FURTHER EVALUATION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
