## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) AIRCRAFT ATTEMPTED LANDING AT A PRIVATE AIRPORT NORTH OF SCHUYLER, NY ON RUNWAY 10. WHILE LANDING, A GUST OF WIND FROM THE SOUTH BLEW THE AIRCRAFT OFF TO THE LEFT. THE PILOT INITIATED A GO-AROUND, ADDED POWER AND THE PLANE SETTLED IN THE TREES APPROX. 100 YARDS OFF THE EAST END OF THE AIRPORT.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB NYC01LA173](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/NYC01LA173), Jul 14, 2001: Piper PA28-140 (N38390), Schuyler, NY, substantial damage. Probable cause: The pilot's delayed go-around, which resulted in an in-flight collision with trees. A factor in this accident was the crosswind conditions.
