## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT DEPARTED ON LOCAL RECREATIONAL FLIGHT APPROXIMATELY 1200 HOURS FOR A 20 MINUTE FLIGHT. THE WIND AT THE TIME OF DEPARTURE WAS LIGHT OUT OF THE WEST. DURING HIS APPROACH TO RUNWAY 20 THE PILOT NOTICED THE WIND HAD INCREASED TO APPROXIMATELY 25 GUSTING TO 30 FROM A SOUTHWESTERLY DIRECTION. HE USED AN APPROACH SPEED OF 90 KNOTS TO COMPENSATE FOR THE GUST FACTOR (NORMAL APPROACH SPEED IS 85-90 KNOTS) WITH FULL FLAPS. ON TOUCHDOWN, THE AIRCRAFT BOUNCED ONCE AND THEN SETTLED TO THE RUNWAY IN A 3-POINT TOUCHDOWN. AS HE WAS DECELLERATING A GUST OF WIND CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO VEER RIGHT. HE ADDED FULL LEFT RUDDER AND LEFT BRAKE TO TRY TO REGAIN DIRECTIONAL CONTROL. NONE OF THESE CONTROL INPUTS CORRECTED THE SITUATION. THE AIRCRAFT CONTINUED TO VEER TO THE RIGHT AND EXITED THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE RUNWAY. HE THEN GROUND-LOOPED OT THE RIGHT.
