## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) PILOT FLEW FROM CDW TO BLOCK ISLAND AND THEN TO MJX MILLER AIRPORT 25 MILES EAST SOUTHEAST OF SANDY HOOK, NJ. THE ENGINE STOPPED. TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO RESTART AND COULD NOT. DITCHED THE AIRCRAFT. USCG SPOTTED THE PILOT AND ARMY MEDIVAC FLEW PIC TO JERSEY SHORE MEMORIAL HOSPITAL WHERE HE WAS ADMITTED AND LATER DISCHARGED. SAID HE WAS IN GOOD SHAPE. I SPOKE TO THE PILOT AND HE HAD FUELED UP TO 75 GALS OF FUEL AT CDW WHICH I VERIFIED AND ALSO FUEL SAMPLES FOR CONTAMINATION WHICH WERE SATISFACTORY. LOGBOOKS AND WORK ORDERS WERE ALL CURRENT. AIRCRAFT IS UNDER WATER AND NOT AVAILABLE FOR INVESTIGATION FOR CAUSE OF WHY THE ENGINE STOPPED. PILOT'S STATEMENT ATTACHED.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System.
