## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON AUGUST 2, 2001, AT 0550 EST. AIRBORNE EXPRESS FLIGHT #182 LANDED ON RUNWAY 10L AFTER REPORTING SEEING AND SMELLING ELECTRICAL SMOKE IN THE COCKPIT. THE CREW REQUESTED PRIORITY HANDLING AND ARFF RESPONDED. THE AIRCRAFT LANDED AND TAXIIED TO THE RAMP WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. MAINTENANCE CHECKED ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FOR BURNING, NOTHING WAS FOUND. RAN ENGINES AND APU, PRESSURIZED AIRCRAFT, AND NOTICED SMOKE SMELL AND THAT THE LEFT ACM PACK OUTPUT WAS VERY LOW. FOUND ACM LOW ON OIL AND ALSO FOUND EVIDENCE OF OIL ON WATER SEPARATOR SOCK WHICH ALSO HAD A BURNT SMELL. REPLACED WATER SEPARATOR SOCK AND DEFERRED LEFT ACM IN ACCORDANCE WITH MEL21-LA CAT C. REFERENCE LOG PAGE #29687-72, INCLUDED. THIS INCIDENT IS CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
