## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) THREE AIRCRAFT DEPARTED DENALI WILDERNESS LODGE ON WOOD RIVER EAST OF DENALI PARK. ONE AIRCRAFT WENT TO HEALY, AK, THE OTHER TWO WERE RETURNING TO THE BASE OF DENALI AIR, INC. STRIP. WEATHER WAS MARGINAL VMC AT THE TOP OF THE PASS THEY HAD TO EXECUTE. THE C-206 PILOT TOLD THE C-207 PILOT HE WOULD TAKE A LOOK AND RADIO TO HIM THE WEATHER CONDITION. THE CALL CAME IN SAYING THE PASS IS OPEN AND VFR SO THE 207 PILOT FOLLOWED. WHEN REACHING THE PASS SUMMIT, HE THOUGHT HE SAW A BIG HOLE THAT GOES DOWN THE DRAINAGE. HE WENT THAT DIRECTION AND LEARNED THAT WAS A MOUNTAIN THROUGH THE FOG, NOT A HOLE. HE HAD TO DESCEND TO MAINTAIN VFR AND FOUND HIMSELF TRAPPED. TO STAY VISUAL HE LANDED UPHILL ON THE MOUNTAIN.
