## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(.19) ON AUGUST 4, 2001, ABOUT 0545 HOURS PACIFIC DAYLIGHT TIME, A WEATHERLY 620B, N90191, WAS SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED WHEN IT COLLIDED WITH POWER LINES WHILE SPRAYING ALFALFA FIELDS AT WINNEMUCCA, NEVADA. THE COMMERCIAL CERTIFICATED PILOT WAS NOT INJURED. VISUAL METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS PREVAILED FOR THE AGRICULTURAL FLIGHT OPERATING UNDER 14 CFR PART 137, AND A COMPANY FLIGHT PLAN WAS FILED. THE FLIGHT ORIGINATED ABOUT 0530 FROM A PRIVATE AIRSTRIP NEAR WINNEMUCCA. (-23) AIRCRAFT STRUCK POWER LINES DURING AERIAL APPLICATION OPERATIONS.

## The NTSB's investigation of this event (1)

From the NTSB's public API. Aircraft are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported serial number, make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

- [NTSB LAX01LA268](https://openairdocs.org/ntsb/LAX01LA268), Aug 4, 2001: Weatherly 620B (N90191), Winnemucca, NV, substantial damage. Probable cause: the pilot's failure to maintain clearance with the wires while he was maneuvering for an aerial application run.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
