## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON AUGUST 9, 2001 AT APPROXIMATELY 1700 LOCAL TIME, N15UC, GULFSTREAM-V, ENROUTE FROM LEXINGTON KY, (LEX) TO TETRBORO, NJ (TEB) THE CREW EXPERIENCED A FIRE/OVERHEAT WARNING LIGHT FOR LEFT AFT DUCT. THEY REQUESTED AND RECEIVED PRIORITY HANDLING AND DIVERTED TO CLEVELAND HOPKINS AIRPORT (CLE) AND LANDED WITHOUT INCIDENT AT 1712 LOCAL. UPON INVESTIGATION IT WAS FOUND THAT THE THERMAL SWITCH PART NUMBER 512T130B150-001 WAS DEFECTIVE AND THE MANUFACTURER HAD INSTALLED THE WRONG PART. REPLACED THERMAL SWITCH WITH PART NUMBER GAS850DF512-250 AS PER THE ILLUSTRATED PARTS CATALOG 26-10-00 FIGURE 1 ITEM 5. THE PREVIOUS INSTALLED SWITCH WAS 150 DEGREE SETTING, THE REQUIRED SWITCH SETTINGS SHOULD BE 250 DEGREE SETTING. PERFORMED OPERATIONAL CHECK. SYSTEM OPERATIONAL CHECK GOOD. NO DEFECTS NOTED. AIRCRAFT RETURNED TO SERVICE.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
