## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) DURING CRUISE FLIGHT, THE AFT CARGO FIRE DETECTOR WARNING SOUNDED. THE FIRE BOTTLE WAS DISCHARGED AND AN UNSCHEDULED LANDING WAS MADE AT PITTSBURGH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. UPON INVESTIGATION AT PIT, NO INDICATION OF FIRE WAS FOUND. THE AFT CARGO FIRE DETECTION SYSTEM WAS PLACARDED INOPERATIVE PER THE MEL AND THE FLIGHT WAS CONTINUED TO STL. THE AFT CARGO FIRE PROTECTION CEU CONNECTOR WAS FOUND CONTAMINATED AND WAS REPLACED AT CHECK-C 6-8-01 AT STL. INVESTIGATION WAS CONDUCTED BY DESK AUDIT AND CLOSED.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
