## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) MR. TOBIN S. WILLIAMSON, PILOT-IN-COMMAND OF N9520B (A CESSNA 172RG), WAS GIVING FLIGHT INSTRUCTION TO MR. BRADLEY K. SULLIVAN A COMMERCIAL PILOT WORKING ON HIS FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR RATING. THEY WERE PRACTICING TOUCH-AND-GO LANDINGS AT DELAND MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, DELAND, FLORIDA. AFTER DOING A SHORT FIELD TAKEOFF MR. WILLIAMSON ELECTED TO GIVE MR. SULLIVAN A SIMULATED ENGINE FAILURE REQUIRING HIM TO MANEUVER TO LAND, AGAIN, ON RUNWAY 23. MR. SULLIVAN MANEUVERED TO LAND ON RUNWAY 23 AND FAILED TO PROPERLY LOWER THE LANDING GEAR. WHEN MR. WILLIAMSON REALIZED THAT THE AIRCRAFT'S LANDING GEAR WAS "UP" HE ATTEMPTED TO APPLY POWER AND GO-AROUND. THE AIRCRAFT, HOWEVER, SETTLED ON TO THE RUNWAY AND LANDED IN A GEAR-UP POSITION.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
