## Narrative

As the FAA filed it, in capitals; the FAA replaces private details with ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^.

(-23) ON 08/30/01 AT 22:00 CDT, AIRCRAFT N756CP, CESSNA 182 LANDED AT EAGLE NEST AIRPORT (4TS6), MIDLOTHIAN, TEXAS WITH LANDING GEAR IN THE UP POSITION. THE PILOT REPORTED THAT HE WAS ON A FLIGHT FROM LUBBOCK, TEXAS TO MIDLOTHIAN, WAXAHACHIA AIRPORT. ON FINAL APPROACH HE NOTICED THAT THE AREA WAS CLEAR ENOUGH TO PROCEED UNDER VFR CONDITIONS TO HIS RESIDENCE AT EAGLES NEST AIRPORT, JUST NORTH OF HIS LOCATION. AT THIS TIME HE CANCELLED HIS IFR FLIGHT AND CONTINUED TO EAGLES NEST AIRPORT. ON FINAL APPROACH HE SAID HE FAILED TO LOWER THE LANDING GEAR, HE IMPACTED THE PAVEMENT AND SLID APPROXIMATELY 1200 FT. TO A FULL STOP ON THE RUNWAY.

From the FAA Accident/Incident Data System. Reports are matched to registry aircraft by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry's history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model. For accidents, the NTSB's own investigation is the fuller record.
